What catneeds –

what ownerneeds

Basically, views of the cat and the owner of the ideal litter coincide. The only cat, of course, do not care about the price of a litter. And people do not always remember that nice for him to smell the flavored litter is not always pleasing to the cat with its sensitive sense of smell.

To determine which litter is still better, TM "Shitty Kitty" conducted the research to find out what the litters are different from one another.

By the principle of action of all litters are divided into two types: absorptive and clumping. The absorbent litter absorbs and retains moisture without changing its structure.

It must be replaced by new after all pellets will leak out by fluid.

Clumping litter in contact with moisture forms the clumps which can be easily removed from the tray. At the same time there is enough to carry out cleaning the tray daily, removing clumps and solid waste and adding a new litter regularly.

WHAT KIND OF LITTER CAT NEEDS?

We do not consider an option of unfilled tray because the only advantage of that is a cheapness. Ultimately, it is, firstly, does not consider the need for cats to dig their "business", and secondly, require the owner to be engaged in cleaning the tray after each toilet visit of cat. Otherwise, the most neat individuals may refuse to use a tray and will demonstrate their love for cleanliness in a manner that is unlikely to please their owners.

So what litter is better from the cats point of view?

it is convenient to tread pads

it is convenient to dig

when you dig in it, it does not produce dust

it has a natural odor

It does not happen by allergy in the form of cracks in the paws

nothing bad will happen if you try to swallow it

WHAT KIND OF LITTER OWNER NEEDS?

it must absorb odor very well

it should not spread through the house on the cat's paws

it should not raise dust when it is poured into the tray

it should be easy to clean

it should not cause poisoning or obstruction, if a cat suddenly decides to swallow it

it must be cost-effective because a filler is a "consumable" and you need to buy it constantly.

TIPES OF CAT LITTERS

CLAY LITTER

Usually cats like clay litter, because it best meets its innate ideas about how a toilet should look like. The quality of the clay litter depends on the clay, from which it is made. It is considered that the best material is bentonite - a kind of clay capable of swelling in a contact with the moisture. Clay litter may be either absorbent or clumping.

PINE PELLET LITTER

Pine pellet litters are usually made from softwood sawdust, pressed into pellets. Due to the lack of chemical additives, pine pellet litters are considered to be environmentally friendly. Granules perfectly absorb liquid and neutralize odor. However, during the absorption, pellets disintegrate often into sawdust and turn into dust that easily sticks to the paws of cats and spread through the house. This disadvantage is compensated by the advantage of pine pellet litters such as the ability to throw it down the drain.

SILICA GEL CAT LITTER

Silica gel litter produced from the dried gel of polysilicic acid. Silica gel has high sorptive properties and thus is used in the production of cat litter. By definition, silica gel litters are absorbing only. This kind of litter is usually more expensive than others, however, it is contemplated that a silica gel litter may be used longer than the others. Typically, this mainly refers to the litter, which has the form of opaque white balls. Silica gel in the form of translucent pellets more quickly saturated with moisture and becomes unusable.

Cats may not like a silica gel litter for two reasons. Firstly, it is unpleasant to tread. And secondly, in the process when liquid comes on silica gel granules they emit a hissing sound, which is not pleasing to cats.
